Ensinger Cast Nylon in different industries

Ensinger Cast Nylon represented across different sectors

Because economical solutions are always in demand, the ability to utilize the properties found in plastics in areas traditionally reserved by metals is something of a trump card. We at Ensinger would like to illustrate a range of innovative new technical solutions where plastic as an engineering material is making in-roads in the world of heavy-duty equipment applications.

The presence of plastic components is not immediately noticeable in large-scale plant and machinery. It is only a closer look at function and performance that brings the very special properties of these plastics to light.

Lattice boom cranes

Plastic pulleys from Ensinger are integrated in lattice boom cranes from renowned manufacturers. Their low weight, corrosion resistance and their ability to extend the service life of ropes are just some of the benefits they offer over steel pulleys.

Mobile cranes

Slide elements, outrigger pads and pulleys from Ensinger are also used in mobile cranes due to their outstanding material properties. They are wear resistant, corrosion-proof, noise reducing and also offer excellent sliding friction behaviour.

Transport industry

Ensinger plastic components made of TECAST and TECARIM provide impressive evidence of their strength and resilience in cable cars, elevators and conveyors: they are not only abrasion resistant, corrosion-proof and noise reducing but also offer outstanding emergency running properties.

Mining

In machine elements subject to stress from sliding friction, Ensinger sliding plastics are able to resist extreme conditions such as dirt and humidity, making them ideally suited for use in tough, hostile conditions.

Shipping

Ensinger pulleys are also tested and approved for offshore applications. In ships’ cranes, they offer major benefits such as weight saving, corrosion prevention and extended rope life.

Low-temperature engineering

Plastic components produced using the RIM method are capable of complying with the most stringent demands in terms of impact resistance, wear resistance and service life even at extremes of temperature below zero (e.g. ski lifts, snow groomers etc.)
