Your assurance: Absolute safety

Eliminate risks

In many sectors of industry, minor errors in production often result in nothing worse than a slight blemish. But in the food production or medical engineering sectors, what may appear to be no more than a detail can have wide-ranging repercussions. These are areas in which a highly critical view is taken of issues surrounding hygiene, safety or the presence of any sort of residue. And quite rightly. We can quite understand why consumers are horrified to discover something which contravenes the strict codes of practice, however “minor”.

Plastics with a safety package

With TECACOMP® ID, Ensinger is now offering you the opportunity to offer your food industry customers more than just efficient machines and plastic components. They are providing an all-round safety package.
• Safety against residues
• The assurance of an unsullied reputation
• A safeguard against inestimable consequential costs
These benefits add up to a major sales argument which can substantially strengthen your market position.

Reliably detectable in foods

Problem solver TECACOMP® ID

Plastic parts made of TECACOMP® ID are resistant, light in weight and capable of withstanding loads. However, the time will inevitably come when every material reaches the end of its life cycle. They may become brittle, causing fragments and splinters to break off and find their way into the food. An occurrence which could have catastrophic repercussions using conventional plastics is quickly dealt with where TECACOMP® ID is involved.

Instantly recognizable in metal detectors

TECACOMP® ID is picked up by metal detectors. Using standardized procedures, any material residues are reliably detected using standard commercially available systems. This means that any contaminated product is prevented from entering the shops, minimizing the risk of consequential costs and loss of image due to food recall campaigns.

Additional security through expertise

By working closely together with rondotest®, we have adjusted TECACOMP® ID ideally in line with the functional characteristics of the most widely used metal detectors. The optimum interaction between material and detectors gives food producers one thing less to worry about. In case of doubt, we co-operate with Rondotest to offer individual advice about the ideal combination of material and detector settings to ensure the best possible results for your specific production

Plastics with metal components

The addition of metals

TECACOMP® ID is produced by adding metallic fillers to the base polymer. These metal components ensure optimum presence recognition by detectors.

Base properties are retained

All popularly used plastics such as PP, PA66, POM or PEEK can be equipped with metallic fillers. The minimal amount of filler required means that TECACOMP® ID materials largely retain the essential properties of the base polymers used. Depending on the requirements imposed on the end product, this allows specific selection of the relevant compound blend. On request, preparations can be supplied which are suitable for contact with foods (in compliance with the FDA Regulations as well as with Directive 2000/72/EC and EU Regulation no. 10/2011).

Scope for selective application

Standards

Because highly specific material properties are often required for particular applications, Ensinger Compounds offers a number of different material compositions as part of its standard range.

Special preparations

Special preparations can be implemented with specific properties designed for individual applications. Working in close co-operation, we analyse the requirements and develop the relevant polymer.

Colours

There are currently two standard colours available for detectable compounds: Blue and grey.

Non-standard colours

On request, non-standard colours can be supplied depending on the required material properties you require.
