Polyaryletherketones
Polyaryletherketones (PAEK) are high temperature thermoplastics with unusual characteristics. The good strength of the semi-crystalline aromatic polymers is maintained even at high temperatures. In addition, PAEK materials show very good impact strength at low temperatures, high mechanical fatigue strength, a very low tendency to creep as well as good sliding and wear properties. The chemical resistance is also very good. Due to their unusual characteristics, polyaryletherketones are used for particularly demanding applications.
- high mechanical strength, even at high temperatures
- very good impact strength
- low tendency to creep
- good chemical resistance
- good sliding and wear properties
- low moisture absorption
- good radiation resistance
- poor resistance to weathering
Ensinger offers the following Polyaryletherketones. All products are made with Victrex® PEEK Polymer.
TECAPEEK (PEEK)
Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) - TECAPEEK - is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic.
The most well-known and important member of the polyaryletherketone group
has excellent sliding and very good mechanical properties, even under thermal load.
Outstanding chemical resistance and a high operating temperature round off its profile and make PEEK an almost universally applicable material for highly stressed parts.
- high permanent operating temperature (260°C)
- high mechanical strength
- high rigidity
- high creep stability, even at high temperatures
- good sliding properties
- high abrasion resistance
- high dimensional stability
- excellent chemical resistance
- resistant to hydrolysis
- good electrical insulation
- resistant to radiation
TECAPEEK HT (PEK)
Polyetherketone (PEK) - TECAPEEK HT - is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic.
PEK offers higher wear resistance as well as improved compressive strength at higher temperatures. Compared to standard PEEK, the mechanical and physical characteristics remain unaltered at up to 30°C higher temperatures. This allows the material to permanently withstand deformation at higher loads.
- excellent mechanical characteristics at high temperatures
- high thermal dimensional stability
- outstanding chemical resistance
- low moisture absorption
- good electrical insulation
- good dimensional stability
TECAPEEK ST (PEKEKK)
Polyetherketonetherketoneketone (PEKEKK) - TECAPEEK ST - is a semi-crystalline
thermoplastic. Due to its high glass transition temperature, excellent mechanical
properties are obtained, even with thermal loads. Furthermore, the material also satisfies requirements with regard to processability, purity and chemical resistance.
- excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures
- high thermal dimensional stability
- outstanding chemical resistance
- low moisture absorption
- good electrical insulation
- good dimensional stability
